FA Cup: Red Devils Top Reds; Chelsea Out For Blood

Third-round action in England's FA Cup continued on Sunday.

At Manchester, England:

A successful penalty kick from Ryan Giggs at two minutes held up as Manchester United defeated visiting Liverpool 1-0, spoiling Kenny Daglish's debut as the Reds new manager (he replaced Roy Hodgson on Saturday).

At London:

Jermaine Defoe scored twice (58', 60') as Tottenham Hotspur blanked visiting Charlton Athletic (League One) 3-0 in a local London derby.

At London:

Daniel Sturridge (33', 52') and Frank Lampard (78', 79') each scored twice as Chelsea delivered a 7-0 home horsewhipping on visiting Ipswich Town (League Championship).

At Leicester, England:

Manchester City and hosts Leicester City (League Championship) battled to a 2-2 draw.  James Milner (23') and Carlos Tevez (45') each tallied once for the visiting Citizens, while Souleymane Bamba (1') and Andy King (64') each delivered a goal for the Foxes.  A replay will take place at Manchester City Stadium on January 12.
