2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying (CONCACAF): El Salvador, Canada, Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana Advance To Third Qualifying Round

The second round of CONCACAF regional qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup resumed on Friday.


Group A:


San Cristobal, Dominican Republic:


Inoel Navarro (15'), Erick Ozuna (40'), Kerbi Rodriguez (63'), and Michael Morrillo (79') each scored once as the Dominican Republic blasted the visiting Cayman Islands 4-0.


At Paramaribo, Suriname:


Lester Blanco scored twice (22', 58') as El Salvador clinched the Group A crown and a berth in the third qualifying round with their 3-1 road win over Suriname.


GROUP A STANDINGS:

2. Dominican Republic (GP: 5; GD: +4; PTS: 7)
3. Suriname (GP: 5; GD: -2; PTS: 7)

Group B:


At Devonshire Parish, Bermuda:


Khano Smith (PK-27') and Kwame Steede (49') each scored a goal as Bermuda defeated visiting Barbados 2-1.


At Providence, Guyana:


Ricky Shakes (10') and Leon Cort (81') each scored a goal as Guyana locked up top spot in Group B and a berth in the third qualifying round with a 2-1 home win over Trinidad and Tobago.

2. Trinidad and Tobago (GP: 5; GD: +5; PTS: 9)
3. Bermuda (GP: 5; GD: 0; PTS: 7)

Group C:


At Managua, Nicaragua:


Raul Leguias scored the only goal of the match in the 57th minute as Nicaragua defeated visiting Dominica 1-0.

2. Nicaragua (GP: 4; GD: -2; PTS: 6)
3. Dominica (GP: 3; GD: -8; PTS: 0)


x-Won Group C and advanced to the third qualifying round 


Group D:


At Basseterre, Saint Kitts:


A 0-0 draw on the road against Saint Kitts and Nevis was good enough for Canada as the visitors clinch the Group D crown and a berth in the third qualifying round.


At Bayamon, Puerto Rico:


In what was designated a home game for Saint Lucia, Puerto Rico still manhandled their opponents 4-0, with Hector Ramos scoring twice (14', 46').

2. Saint Kitts and Nevis (GP: 5; GD: +2; PTS: 7)
3. Puerto Rico (GP: 5; GD: +1; PTS: 6)

Group E:


At Belmopan, Belize:


Deon McCauley's equalizer at 16 minutes enabled Belize to gain a 1-1 home draw with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.  Cornelius Stewart scored for the visitors in the 13th minute.


At Guatemala City:


Fredy Garcia scored twice (1', 30') as Guatemala dominated visiting Grenada 3-0.


GROUP E STANDINGS:


Group F:


At Fredriksted, St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands:


Rocky Siberie scored twice during the first quarter-hour (8', 13') as Curacao dominated the United States Virgin Islands 3-0 on the road.


At North Sound, Antigua:


Kerry Skepple scored the lone goal of the match in the 82nd minute as Antigua and Barbuda locked up a berth in the third qualifying round with their 1-0 home win over Haiti.

1. x-Antigua and Barbuda (GP: 5; GD: +22; PTS: 15)
2. Haiti (GP: 5; GD: +14; PTS: 10)
3. Curacao (GP: 5; GD: -3; PTS: 4)
4. United States Virgin Islands (GP: 5; GD: -33; PTS: 0)

With all six groups in the second qualifying round all now decided, here is the makeup of all three four-team groups for the third qualifying round:
