Two games were played on Thursday as the quarterfinal round of the Major League Soccer playoffs concluded.
Eastern Conference:
At Houston:
Brian Ching scored the only goal of the match (45'+2) as the Houston Dynamo, in their final game at Robertson Stadium, defeated the Philadelphia Union 1-0 at home in the second game of their two-game conference semifinal series and took the two-match set 3-1 on aggregate.
The Dynamo will take on Sporting Kansas City on the road in Sunday's Eastern Conference final.
Western Conference:
At Carson, California:
Mike Magee (42') and Landon Donovan (PK-75') provided the scoring as the Los Angeles Galaxy got the better of the New York Red Bulls, winning game two 2-1 at home and their two-game conference semifinal series 3-1 on aggregate.
On Sunday, the Galaxy will host Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference final.
The winners of Sunday's games will play in the MLS Cup final on November 20 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
