Two games were played on Monday as the semifinal round of England's League One promotion playoffs concluded.
At Yeovil, England:
Kevin Dawson (6') and Ed Upson (85') each scored once as Yeovil Town overturned their 1-0 game-one road defeat a 2-0 game-two home triumph as the Glovers eliminated Sheffield United 2-1 on aggregate.
At London:
With a 3-3 deadlock in game two and the aggregate score at 4-4 for the two-match series, and following 30 scoreless minutes of overtime, Sam Saunders, Paul Hayes, Harlee Dean, Tony Craig, and Adam Forshaw all converting their spot kicks, Brentford won the penalty kick shootout 5-4 over visiting Swindon Town to advance to the promotion final.
The Grovers and Bees will meet in the promotion playoff final to take place on May 19 at London's Wembley Stadium. The winner will join Doncaster Rovers and AFC Bournemouth in gaining promotion to the Football League Championship (the second level of English Soccer) next season.
