Callum McFadzean scored the only goal of the match in the 46th minute on Friday as Sheffield United defeated visiting Yeovil Town 1-0 in the opening game of a two-match semifinal series in England's League One promotion playoffs. Yeovil Town will host the return match on Monday with the winner of the two-game series to take on the Brentford-Swindon Town series winner in the May 19 final at Wembley Stadium in London for the right to join Doncaster Rovers and AFC Bournemouth in gaining promotion to the English League Championship next season.
