At Oley, Pennsylvania:

Darius Madion (50') and Steve Neumann (55') each delivered a goal five minutes apart as Reading United AC (Premier Development League, with is in the fourth level of the American soccer pyramid) blanked visiting FC Sonic Lehigh Valley (National Professional Soccer League, also in the fourth division) 2-0.

At Conyers, Georgia:

The Georgia Revolution (NPSL) won a high-scoring affair against visiting Real Colorado Foxes (PDL) 4-3 in a battle of fourth-division clubs.

At Orlando, Florida:

After a 1-1 draw through 120 minutes, VSI Tampa Bay FC (of the United Soccer Leagues' Pro League, in the third tier of American soccer) converted all five of their spot kicks and won the penalty-kick shootout on the road, defeating Orlando City U-23 (PDL) 5-3 to advance to the second round.

At Greensboro, North Carolina:

In a battle of fourth-division clubs, after a 4-4 deadlock through 120 minutes, the Carolina Dynamo (PDL) defeated the NPSL's Chattanooga FC 4-1 in the penalty-kick shootout.

At Pittsburgh:

After a 1-1 deadlock through overtime, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL Pro) took the penalty-kick shootout, 5-3 at the expense of visiting RWB Adria (USASA).

At Beavercreek, Ohio:

The Dayton Dutch Lions (USL Pro) dominated the visiting River City Rovers (PDL) 3-0.

At Portland, Maine:

GPS Portland Phoenix (PDL) blanked visiting Mass Premier (USASA) 2-0.

At Brooklyn, New York:

Icon FC (USASA) knocked off the Brooklyn Italians (NPSL) 4-1 on the road.

At Miami:

The Ocala Stampete (PDL) doubled up Red Force (USASA) 4-2 on the road.

At Austin, Texas:

The Austen Aztex (PDL) dominated visiting visiting NTX Rayados (USASA) 3-0.

At Tucson, Arizona:

FC Tucson (PDL) knocked off visiting Phoenix FC (USL Pro) 2-1.

At Portland, Oregon:

The Portland Timbers U23s (PDL) outlasted the visiting Sacramento Gold (NPSL) 3-2.

At Ventura, California:

The Ventura County Fusion (PDL) defeated visiting FC Hasenthal (NPSL) 3-2.

At Sumner, Washington:

Seattle Sounders FC U-23 (PDL) made thing rough for visiting Doxa Italia (USASA) 5-1.

At Laredo, Texas:

The Laredo Heat (PDL) blanked visiting PSA Elite (USASA) 2-0.

At Ocean City, New Jersey:

The Ocean City Nor'esasters (PDL) defeated the visiting New York Red Bulls U23s (NPSL) 2-0 in a battle of fourth-division clubs.

At Pontiac, Michigan:

Niki Djokic scored both goals (57', 90'+) as the Dearborn Stars (United States Adult Soccer Association, which is in the fifth level of American soccer) knocked off the Michigan Bucks (PDL) 2-0 on the road.
