Two games were played on Friday as the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League commenced.

At Tunis, Tunisia:

Edward Sadomba scored twice (26', 87') as Libya's Al-Ahly Benghazi demolished Chad's Foullah Edifice 4-0 in the opening contest of a two-game series.

At Casablance, Morocco:

Mouhcine Iajoir delivered a quadruple (8', 46', 66', 82') as Raja Casablanca destroyed visiting Diamond Stars (Sierra Leone) 6-0 in match one of their two-game series.

Two series that were to start this weekend have been canceled, with Guinea Bisseau's Os Balantas pulling out of their two-game series with Sewe Sport from Ivory Coast and the Steve Biko Football Club from The Gambia nixing their two-match series with Algeria's ES Setif.  Sewe Sport and ES Setif advanced to the first qualifying round by default.
