At Richmond, Virginia:
Patrick Mullins scored what proved to be the game winner in the 39th minute as the New England Revolution held off the home-standing Richmond Kickers (USL Pro) 3-2.
At Bridgeview, Illinois:
The Chicago Fire, with Grant Ward (22') and Mike Magee (40') delivering the tallies, defeated the visiting Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL Pro) 2-1 in a contest which was suspended in the 49th minute due to weather.
At Kansas City, Kansas:
Soony Saad (76') and Alex Martinez (87') delivered the late goals as Sporting Kansas City shut out visiting Minnesota United (NASL) 2-0.
At Tukwila, Washington:
Kenny Cooper scored twice (45', 56') as the Seattle Sounders annihilated visiting PSA Elite (the last USASA club left in the tournament) 5-0.
At Peoria, Arizona:
Gyasi Zardes scored twice during a two-minute span in the second half (51', 53') as the Los Angeles Galaxy came from behind to defeat Arizona United (USL Pro) 2-1 on the road.
