At Vancouver, British Columbia:
Christian Techera (40') and Tim Parker (67') each scored once as the Vancouver Whitecaps blanked visiting Sporting Kansas City 2-0.
At Frisco, Texas:
Jahmir Hyka scored the game's lone goal in the 81st minute while David Bingham made three saves to preserve both the shutout and the victory as the San Jose Earthquakes knocked off previously-unbeaten FC Dallas 1-0 on the road.
