LDU Quito, thanks to first-half goals through the courtesy of Claudio Bieler (2'), Joffre Guerron (29'), Jairo Campos (34'), and Patricio Urrutia (45'), took the opening match of the two-game Copa Libertadores final 4-2 over visiting Brazilian club Fluminense on Wednesday night. The series concludes at Rio De Janeiro at Maracana Stadium next Wednesday. The winner would qualify for this December's FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.
