CAF Champions League: Zamalek, ES Sahel, Espernace ST Take Series Openers; Djoliba and Sunshine Stars Battle To 1-1 Game-One Draw

The second round of the CAF Champions League commenced on Saturday with four games.


At Fes, Morocco:


Ahmed Hassan (78') and Ahmed Gaafar (89') each scored a goal late in the second half as Zamalek defeated Maghreb de Fes 2-0 in game one of their two-match home-and-away series.


At Sousse, Tunisia:


Lamjed Chehoudi (28'), Lasaad Jaziri (PK-55'), Mosaab Sassi (85'), and Hatem Bejaoui (90') each tallied once as ES Sahel dominated visiting AFAD Djekanou 4-1 in their series opener.


At Bamako, Mali:


Mamadou Sidibe's 71st-minute equalizer enabled Djoliba to salvage a 1-1 game-one home draw with Sunshine Stars.  Izu Azuka scored what could be a very important away goal in the first minute.


At Rades, Tunisia:


Youssef Msakni scored twice (38', 90'+3) as Esperance ST virtually punched their tickets to the group stage following their 6-0 game-one home demolition of Dynamos of Zimbabwe.
