CAF Champions League: ASC Diaraf, Kano Pillars, ASFA Yennenga, ZESCO United Advance

The preliminary round of the CAF Champions League continued on Saturday.

At Serrekunda, The Gambia:

ASC Diaraf took game two of their series with Gambia Ports Authority FC 1-0, enabling the Senegalese club to win the series 2-1 on aggregate.

At Kano, Nigeria:

Gambo Mohammed scored the only goal of the match 29 minutes as Kano Pillars took game two 1-0 over visiting Mighty Barrolle and took out the Liberian club 3-1 on aggregate.

At Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso:

ASFA Yennenga spanked visiting Fello Star 3-0 in game two and eliminated the club from Guinea 4-1 on aggregate.  ES Setif from Algeria awaits the club from the country formerly known as Upper Volta in the first round proper.

At Matola, Mozambique:

Despite dropping a 2-1 decision on the road against Liga Muculmana, Zambia's ZESCO United still advanced by winning the two-game series 4-2 on aggregate.  Nicholas Zulu scored at 37 minutes to help the visitors secure a spot in the first round proper.

At Bata, Equatorial Guinea:

William Dassagate scored what proved to be the series-winning goal at 37 minutes as ASPAC (Benin) gained a 1-1 game-two road draw with Deportivo Mongomo and won their two-match series 2-1 on aggregate.

At Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania:

After a scoreless opening match two weeks earlier in Comoros, Simba SC won the return match 4-2 over Elan Club and won the two-game series by that score on aggregate.
