CAF Champions League: JC Abidjan, Zamalek, Wydad Casablanca, AS Vita Club Advance To First Round Proper

Four more clubs advanced to the first round of the CAF Champions League as their two-game qualifying-round series concluded on Sunday.


At Abidjan, Ivory Coast:


Lacine Traore (36'), Djemory Coulibaly (55'), and Diabate (57') each tallied once as JC Abidjan, following their scoreless opening contest in Niger, defeated visiting ASFAN 3-0 in game two to take their series by that score on aggregate.  Next up for JC Abidjan:  Alittihad Tripoli SC from Libya.


At Cairo, Egypt:


Shikabala scored the only goal of the match at 58 minutes as Zamalek defeated visiting Ulinzi Stars 1-0 in game two and took out the Kenyan club 5-0 on aggregate.


At Dormaa Ahenkro, Ghana:


Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two decision on the road, Wydad Casablanca still won their two-game series with Aduana Stars 3-1 on aggregate.  Kano Pillars FC from Nigeria await the Moroccan club in the first round.


At Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo:


After a 1-1 draw on the road in Zanzibar, AS Vita Club manhandled visiting Zanzibar Ocean View 3-0 in game two and won their series 4-1 on aggregate.
