CONCACAF Champions League: Isidro Metapan, Communicaciones Pick Up Wins

Two games were played on Wednesday as group-stage play continued in the CONCACAF Champions League.


Group B:


At Metapan, El Salvador:


Paolo Suarez (45') and Christian Bautista (52') provided the goalpower that carried Isidro Metapan to a 2-0 home win over Santos Laguna.


GROUP B STANDINGS:


1. Colorado Rapids (GP: 2; GD: +1; PTS: 4)
2. Isidro Metapan (GP: 2; GD: +1; PTS: 3)
3. Santos Laguna (GP: 2; GD: -1; PTS: 3)
4. Real Espana (GP: 1; GD: -1; PTS: 1)


Group C:


At Toronto:


The scheduled contest between FC Dallas and Toronto FC was suspended due to heavy rains and frequent lightning at and around BMO field.  Jackson Goncalves' goal for the visiting Hoops at 18 minutes as well as the results of this match have been wiped out, with the game to be replayed in its' entirety on Thursday in Toronto.


Group D:


At Guatemala City:


In a match postponed from Tuesday due to heavy rain, Comunicaciones, thanks to goals courtesy of Marvin Ceballos (73') and Bryan Ordonez (90'+4), defeated visiting Herediano 2-0.
