UEFA Champions League Group C: Red Devils Eliminate FC Otelul Galati; Eagles Prevented From Advancing

Action from Group C in the UEFA Champions League continued with two Wednesday contests.

At Manchester, England:





Antonio Valencia (8', that's him being congratulated by Anderson and Nani) and Wayne Rooney (87;) provided the scoring as Manchester United eliminated FC Otelul Galati from the tournament with a 2-0 home win.

Benjamin Huggel's 64th-minute equalizer (celebrated, as shown here) kept FC Basel alive in the tournament as they prevented SL Benfica from locking up a knockout-stage berth with a 1-1 road draw with the Eagles.  Rodrigo Moreno Machado scored at 4 minutes for the hosts.
