Wednesday opening game of the two-match Mexican Primera Division Clausura playoff semifinal series between Club America and visiting Monterrey ended in a 0-0 stalemate.  The series will conclude on Saturday on the Striped Gang's home pitch in Monterrey. The winner will face the Tigres-Santos Laguna winner in the two-match final.
