Keisuke Honda successfully converted his stoppage-time penalty kick (90'+1) on Tuesday as Japan gained a 1-1 home draw with Australia in Asian regional qualifying and became the first nation (outside of automatically-qualified hosts Brazil) to qualify for next year's FIFA World Cup finals. Tommy Oar scored for the Socceroos in the 82nd minute. For the Japanese, it will be their fifth consecutive World Cup appearance.
