Copa America: El Tri Gain Draw With Venezuela, Win Group C; Reggae Boyz Blanked By Uruguay In Tourney Finale For Both Squads

Action in Group C in the Copa America concluded with two Monday contests.

At Houston:

In a battle of teams that had already clinched berths in the quarterfinal round, Jesus Corona's equalizer in the 80th minute lifted Mexico to a 1-1 draw with Venezuela that locked up top spot in Group C for El Tri.  Jose Manuel Velazquez scored in the 10th minute for The Burgundy.

At Santa Clara, California:

In the tournament finale for both squads, Abel Hernandez (21'), Je-Vaughn Watson (OG-66'), and Mathias Corujo (88') each scored once as Uruguay dominated Jamaica 3-0 as the Reggae Boyz go out with nary a point or goal.

Final Group C Standings:
