At Columbus, Ohio:
Justin Meram initiated the scoring in the 41st minute as the Columbus Crew, with four goal scorers tallying once apiece, demolished the visiting Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL) 4-0.
At Rochester, New York:
Sacha Kljestan successfully converted a penalty kick in the 20th minute for the only score of the match as the New York Red Bulls defeated the Rochester Rhinos (USL) 1-0 on the road.
At the Bronx, New York:
Danny Szetela scored the lone goal of the match in the 88th minute as the NASL's New York Cosmos knocked off New York City FC 1-0 on the road.
At Cary, North Carolina:
The New England Revolution defeated the NASL's Carolina RailHawks 1-0 on the road in overtime.
At Boyds, Maryland:
After 120 scoreless minutes, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (NASL) upended DC United on the road by winning the penalty-kick shootout 4-3.
At Blaine, Minnesota:
Diego Rubio scored the winning goal in overtime (109') as Sporting Kansas City defeated home-standing Minnesota United (NASL) 2-1.
At Bridgeview, Illinois:
After a 1-1 draw through 120 minutes, thanks to David Accam's 111th-minute equalizer in overtime, the Chicago Fire, with Khaly Thiam, Brandon Vincent, Nick LaBrocca, and the aforementioned Mr. Accam converting their spot kicks, advanced to the Round of 16 after taking the penalty-kick shootout 4-3 from the visiting Indy Eleven (NASL).
At Dallas:
Carlos Lizarazo scored twice (37', 43')during regulation and once in the penalty-kick shootout for FC Dallas as the Hoops, after a 2-2 regulation draw, followed by 30 scoreless overtime minutes, won the penalty-kick shootout 6-5 over the visiting Oklahoma City Energy (USL). Kellyn Acosta, Mauro Diaz, Atiba Harris, Juan Esteban Ortiz, and Colin Bonner also converted from the spot during the shootout.
At Houston:
Mauro Manotas opened the scoring in the 39th minute as the Houston Dynamo, with four goal scorers each tallying once, demolished visiting San Antonio FC (USL) 4-0.
At Tukwila, Washington:
Cristian Roldan (71') and Joevin Jones (90'+1) each scored once as the Seattle Sounders blanked the visiting Kitsap Pumas (the last remaining PDL club in the tournament) 2-0.
