GROUP A:
At Lens:
Fabian Schar scored the only goal of the match in the fifth minute as Switzerland spoiled Albania's major-tournament debut with a 1-0 victory over their ten-man opponents. That's Fabian here, celebrating what proved to be his game winner.

Hal Robson-Kanu scored the winning goal in the 81st minute as Wales, in their first major tournament appearance since the 1958 World Cup, knocked off Slovakia 2-1. Gareth Bale (shown here celebrating) got things going for the Welsh Wonders with his goal on a free kick in the tenth minute.

At Marseille:
Vasili Berezutski's equalizer in the second minute of second-half stoppage time (that's him picture here celebrating after scoring) lifted Russia to a 1-1 draw with England. Eric Dier scored in the 73rd minute for the Three Lions.
