Chris Fagan scored the only goal of the match in the tenth minute as St. Patrick's Athletic took their series opener with Jeunesse Esch 1-0 at home.
At Skopje, Macedonia:
Eljif Elmas' equalizer in the 80th minute enabled Rabotnicki to salvage a series-opening 1-1 home draw with Buducnost Podgorica. Velizar Janketic scored for the Montenegrin club in the 36th minute.
At Elbasan, Albania:
Slovan Bratislava gained a series-opening 0-0 road stalemate with Partizani Tirana.
At Baku, Azerbaijan:
Moldova's Dacia Chisinau gained a series-opening 0-0 road deadlock with Kapaz PFK.
