CONCACAF Champions League: DC United On Life Support; Pumas And L.A. Firpo Draw

CONCACAF Champions League group stage play continued Thursday night.

Group A:

At San Jose, Costa Rica:

Rod Dyachenko's equalizer (90') enabled DC United to remain barely alive in the race for a spot in the quarterfinal round as the Major League Soccer club gained a 2-2 road draw with Deportivo Saprissa. Francis Doe scored United first goal at 6 minutes. Jairo Arieta (80') and Cesar Elizondo (85') provided the late second-half scores for the hosts.

GROUP A STANDINGS:

At San Salvador, El Salvador:

Mexico's UNAM Pumas and Club Deportivo Juan Angel Firpo battled to a 1-1 stalemate. Mauricio Quintanilla (55') got the hosts ahead briefly, before the Pumas' Martin Bravo (55') equalized.
