AFC Champions League Qualifying: Lekhwiya, Al-Qadsia, El Jaish, Muangthong United Advance

Four games were played on Saturday as the second round of qualifying for the AFC Champions League commenced.

WEST ASIA ZONE:

At Doha, Qatar:

Nam Tae-Hee (35') and Habieb Nasief (OG-48') provided the scoring that enabled Lekhwiya to hold off visiting Al-Hidd (Bahrain) 2-1 and advance to the third qualifying round.  Next Saturday, the Qatari club will host the winner of Sunday's Lokomotiv Tashkent-Al-Kuwait one-game playoff.

At Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates:

Musaed Al Eanzi (11'), Omar Al Somah (35'), Saleh Al Sheikh (73'), and Fahad Al Ansari (83') each scored a goal as Al-Qadsia demolished Bani Yas SC 4-0 on the road to advance to the third qualifying round and an encounter at home in Kuwait against Qatar's El Jaish, to be played next Saturday.

At Doha, Qatar:

Go Seul-Ki delivered a hat trick (4', 27', 80') in El Jaish's 5-1 home fist-beating of Uzbekistan's Nasaf Qarshi FK.  El Jaish will host Kuwait's Al-Qadsia next Saturday in a one-off playoff in the third qualifying round.

EAST ASIA ZONE:

At Nonthaburi, Thailand:

Mario Gjurovski (35') and Joy Bothroyd (62') provided the scoring as Muangthong United blanked visiting Hanoi T&T of Vietnam 2-0, setting up an encounter next Saturday in Australia against the Melbourne Victory in the third qualifying round.
