John Goossens scored his first career MLS goal in the 58th minute as the Chicago Fire defeated the visiting San Jose Earthquakes 1-0.
At Sandy, Utah:
Jared Jeffrey's stoppage-time equalizer (90'+2) lifted DC United to a 1-1 road draw with Real Salt Lake. Juan Manuel Martinez scored for the hosts in the 57th minute.
