MAMELODI SUNDOWNS WIN FIRST AFRICAN CLUB TITLE (FIRST FOR A SOUTH AFRICAN CLUB SINCE 1995)

At Alexandria, Egypt:

Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two road decision on Sunday to Zamalek, Mamelodi Sundowns won the CAF Champions League's two-match final 3-1 on aggregate and became the first South African club to win Africa's continental club championship since Orlando Pirates did the trick in 1995.

The Sundowns will play in December's FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in Osaka and Yokohama, Japan.
