MLS: Crew And Fire Draw; Rapids Climb To Top Of Supporters' Shield Race With Home Win Over Quakes; Columbus And San Jose Eliminated From Playoff Contention

Two games were contested in Major League Soccer on Thursday.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

Despite Adam Jahn's double (13', 80'), the Columbus Crew had to settle for a 2-2 road draw with the Chicago Fire and were officially eliminated from playoff contention.  The hosts' tallies came courtesy of Michael Parkhurst (OG-53') and Michael de Leeuw (57').

At Commerce City, Colorado:

Kevin Doyle scored twice (38', PK-73') as the Colorado Rapids took over top spot in both the Western Conference standings and the Supporters' Shield race after their 3-2 home win over the San Jose Earthquakes, who will miss the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.
