The second half of Europa League group-stage play commenced on Thursday with a full slate of 24 games.



GROUP A:



At Netanya, Israel:



Patrick Twumasi scored the only goal of the match as Astana defeated Maccabi Tel Aviv 1-0 on the road and knocked the Israeli club out of European competition.



At Prague, Czech Republic:



Carlos Bacca (15') and Simon Deli (OG-89') as Villarreal blanked Slavia Prague 2-0 on the road.

At Istanbul, Turkey:


Eden Visca's equalizer in the third minute of second-half stoppage time lifted Istanbul Basaksehir to a 1-1 home draw with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.  Florian Grillitsch scored in the 47th minute for the German club.

Marvin Baudry (3') and Onur Kaya (70') each scored once in SV Zulte Waregem's 2-0 road win over Vitesse Arnhem.

At San Sebastian, Spain:



Juanmi (31'), Alberto De la Bella (69'), and Jon Bautista (81') each scored once as Real Sociedad knocked Vardar out of the tournament after dominating the visiting Macedonian club 3-0.
