CAF Champions League: Enyimba, Al-Halal Win As They Close In On Semifinal Berths While Wydad Casablanca And Esperance ST Draw As Group-Stage Play Reach Midway Point

With three games played on Sunday, group stage play in the CAF Champions League reached the midway point.


Group A:


At Aba, Nigeria:


Uche Kalu (9') and Chidozie Johnson (25') provided the goals that carried Enyimba to a 2-0 home win over Raja Casablanca.


At Omdurman, Sudan:


Al-Hilal, with Haitham Mustafa (PK-28') and Edet Otobong (82') providing the scoring, came from behind to top visiting Coton Sport 2-1.

At Casablanca, Morocco:


Late goals from Fabrice Ondama (65') and Youssef Kaddioui (PK-78') enabled Wydad Casablanca to erase a two-goal deficit and gain a 2-2 home draw with Esperance ST.  Wajdi Bouazzi (22') and Walid Hicheri (37') scored for the visiting Tunisian club.
