CONCACAF Champions League: Herediano and Motagua Round Out Group Stage Entrants

The preliminary round of the CONCACAF Champions League concluded with the second games of the two remaining two-match series on Thursday.


At Providence, Guyana:


Carlos Hernandez (78') and Jorge Barbosa (84') each tallied once as Club Sport Herediano gained a 2-2 road draw with Alpha United, much more than good enough for the Costa Rican club to win their two-match series 10-2 on aggregate.


At Guatemala City, Guatemala:


Despite dropping a 2-0 game-two road decision to CSD Municipal, CD Motagua still won their two-match series 4-2 on aggregate.


Here's a look at the four group of four teams apiece look for the group stage.

Group stage action starts August 16, with each team playing each other team in its group twice, with the top two finishers in each group advancing to the quarterfinal round.
