At Algiers, Algeria:


Despite dropping a 3-1 road decision to already-eliminated MC Alger, Wydad Casablanca still advanced to the quarterfinal round.


At Cairo, Egypt:


Esperance ST gained a 1-1 road draw with Al-Ahly, enabling them to win the Group B title while eliminating the longtime Egyptian---and continental---powerhouse from the tournament.
