UEFA Champions League Group C: Red Devils Avoid Massive Collapse; Road Win For Benfica

Two games were played in Group C of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

At Manchester, England:

Ashley Young rescued Manchester United with a 90th minute equalisier to force a 3-3 draw with Basel.

Danny Welbeck scored twice in the first half (16', 17'), but it was Ashley Young's goal at 90 minutes that salvaged a 3-3 home draw for Manchester United against FC Basel.  Fabian Frei scored once (58') and Alexander Frei scored twice (60', PK-78') for the visiting Swiss champions.  That's Ashley (left), celebrating with Danny Welbeck.

At Bucharest, Romania:

Bruno Cesar is mobbed after putting Benfica in front at Galati.

In a match played in the Romanian capital because the hosts' home stadium didn't meet UEFA criteria, Bruno Cesar scored the only goal in the 41st minute as SL Benfica blanked FC Otelul Galati 1-0 on the road.  The Eagles' goal scorer is seen here mobbed by happy teammates.
