FIFA Club World Cup: Auckland City Beaten In Opener

Kashiwa Reysol celebrate Junya Tanaka's goal


In Thursday's opening contest of the FIFA Club World Cup, Junya Tanaka (37', he's shown here celebrating) and Masato Kudo (40') each scored a goal three-minutes apart as Kashiwa Reysol, whom, as newly crowned J.League champions, represented the host nation, defeated Auckland City (winners of last season's OFC Champions League) 2-0.  On Sunday, Kashiwa Reysol will take on CONCACAF winners Monterrey in the quarterfinal round.
