Robert Earnshaw, in his first game since being traded, scored in the 70th minute against his former team while Quincy Amarikwa added a tally in the 90th to lift the Chicago Fire to a 2-2 road draw with Toronto FC. Bakary Soumare (OG-3') and Gilberto Oliveira Souza Junior (80') provided the scoring for the Reds.
At Harrison, New Jersey:
Thierry Henry (53', 67') and Bradley Wright-Phillips (75', 90'+1) each scored twice in the second half as the New York Red Bulls doubled up the visiting Montreal Impact 4-2.
At Foxborough, Massachusetts:
Lee Nguyen scored the only goal of the match in the 56th minute as the New England Revolution defeated visiting Chivas USA 1-0.
At Columbus, Ohio:
Justin Meram (35'), Adam Bedell (59'), and Aaron Schoenfeld (64') each delivered a goal as the Columbus Crew dominated the visiting Houston Dynamo 3-0.
At Kansas City, Kansas:
Fabian Espindola (24'), Chris Rolfe (28'), and Perry Kitchen (31') each produced a goal during a seven-minute span in the first half as DC United took over first place in both the Eastern Conference standings and Supporters' Shield rack with a 3-0 road beat-down of Sporting Kansas City.
At Carson, California:
Landon Donovan (4') and Marcelo Sarvas (32') delivered the goals as the Los Angeles Galaxy blanked the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0.
