Europa League: Second Qualifying Round Starts

33 games were played on Thursday as the second qualifying round for the Europa League commenced.


At Almaty, Kazakhstan:


Gerard Gohou scored the game-winning goal in the 55th minute as FC Kairat dominated visiting Alashkert FC 3-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.


At Jelgava, Latvia:


Klebs Kluskins scored the only goal of the match in the 87th minute as FK Jelgava took their series opener from FK Rabotnicki 1-0 at home.


At Chisinau, Moldova:


Matej Jelic scored twice (53', 59') as MSK Zilina took the opening match of their series against Dacia Chisinau 2-1 on the road.


At Randers, Denmark:


Sweden's Elfsborg held hosts Randers FC to a 0-0 series-opening stalemate.


At Riga, Latvia:


Arturs Karasausks scored twice (27', 47') as Skonto FC settled for a series-opening 2-2 home deadlock with Debreceni VSC.  Tibor Tisza (9') and Geoffrey Castillion (72') each delivered a goal for the visiting Hungarian club.


At Salihorsk, Belarus:


Jacobo Ynclan scored the only goal of the match in the 62nd minute in Wolfsberger AC's 1-0 series-opening road victory over FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk.


At Stara Zagora, Bulgaria:


Martin Albrechtsen scored the lone goal of the match in the 85th minute as Brondby picked up a series-opening 1-0 road win over Beroe Stara Zagora.


At Stockholm, Sweden:


Henok Goitom scored twice (29', PK-83') as AIK blanked visiting FC Shirak 2-0 in game one.


At Jerusalem, Israel:

Gianluca Frontino's successfully-converted penalty kick in the 87th minute lifted FC Thun to a 1-1 series-opening road draw with Hapoel Beer' Sheva.  Odiviu Hoban scored in the 26th minute for the Israeli club.

At Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic:

Bassel Jradi scored the winning goal in the 85th minute as Stromgodset took the opening game of their series with FK Mlada Boleslav 2-1 on the road.

At Razgrad, Bulgaria:

Syarhey Palitsevich's equalizer in the 72nd minute carried FC Dinamo Minsk to a series-opening 1-1 road draw with Cherno More Varna, whose tally came in the 11th minute courtesy of Mathias Coureur.

At Larnaca, Cyprus:

Georgios Kolokoudias scored twice (20', PK-64') as Apollon Limassol demolished visiting Trakai 4-0 in their series opener.

At Koper, Slovenia:

Amar Rahmanovic scored twice (17', 41') as FC Koper held off visiting Hajduk Split 3-2 in the opening contest of their two-game series.

At Tirana, Albania:

Milos Lakic scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute as Mladost Podgorica took the opening game of their series with Kukesi 1-0 on the road.

At Charleroi, Belgium:

David Pollet (10', 68') and Neeskens Kebano (47', 90'+3) each scored twice as Charleroi manhandled visiting Beitar Jerusalem 5-1 in their series-opening contest.

At Vaduz, Liechtenstein:

Markus Neumayr scored twice (53', 90'+2) as FC Vaduz defeated visiting Nomme Kalju 3-1 in their series opener.

At Copenhagen, Denmark:

Benjamin Verbic (3') and Kasper Kusk (74') delivered the goals as FC Copenhagen blanked visiting Newtown 2-0 in game one.

Franko Andrijasevic scored the winning goal in the opening minute of first-half stoppage time as Lokomotiva Zagreb took their series opener with PAOK 2-1 at home.  Robert Mak kept the Greek club in the series with his score in the second minute of second-half stoppage time.

At Trabzon, Turkey:

Mehmet Ekici scored the only goal of Trabzonspor's series-opening 1-0 win over visiting Differdange 03 in the 44th minute.

At Zlate Moravce, Slovakia:

Martin Mikovic scored the winning goal in the 35th minute as Spartak Trnava defeated visiting Linfield FC 2-1 in game one of their two-match series.

At Bratislava, Slovakia:

Adam Zrelak scored the lone goal of the match in the 84th minute as FC Slovak Bratislava defeated visiting University College Dublin AFC in the opening match of their two-game series.

At Budapest, Hungary:

Dzenis Beganovic scored the only goal of the match in the 90th minute as Zeljeznicar Sarajevo took game one of their series with Ferencvaros 1-0 on the road in the Hungarian capital.

At Novi Sad, Serbia:

Aleksandar Stanisavljevic (6'), Miljan Mrdakovic (16'), and Romans Mickevics (OG-88') produced the goals as Vojvodina dominated visiting Spartaks Jurmala 3-0 in their series opener.

At Bialystok, Poland:

Omonia held hosts Jagiellonia Bialystok to a series-opening 0-0 stalemate.

At Belgrade, Serbia:

Nikola Stojilijkovic successfully converted a penalty kick in the 53rd minute to carry Cukaricki to a series-opening 1-0 home win over Gabala FK from Azerbaijan.

At Wroclaw, Poland:

IFK Gothenburg held hosts Slask Wroclaw to a series-opening 0-0 deadlock.

At London:

James Tomkins' goal in the 90th minute carried West Ham United to a series-opening 1-0 home win over Birkirkara from Malta.

At Inverness, Scotland:
