MLS: Red Bulls Knock Off Impact At Home; Caps Clinch Playoff Berth With Draw Against Hoops

Two games were contested in Major League Soccer on Wednesday.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Sacha Kljestan (PK-16') and Lloyd Sam (39') each scored once as the New York Red Bulls took sole possession of the lead in the race for the Supporters' Shield by holding off the visiting Montreal Impact 2-1.

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

A 0-0 home draw with FC Dallas enabled the Vancouver Whitecaps to clinch a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs while the Hoops took over first place in the Western Conference (due to more wins than the Los Angeles Galaxy).
