UEFA Nations League: Three Lions Knock Off Spain On Road; Iceland Relegated From Group A

Seven games were on tap in group-stage play in the UEFA Nations League.

LEAGUE A:

GROUP TWO:

At Reykjavik, Iceland:

Michael Lang scored the winning goal in the 67th minute as Switzerland defeated Iceland 2-1 on the road, relegating the hosts to League B.

Group Two Standings:

2.    Switzerland (GP: 3; GD: +6; PTS: 6)
3. z-Iceland (GP: 3; GD: -10; PTS; 0)

NOTE:  Belgium defeated visiting Switzerland 2-1 last Friday.

At Seville, Spain:

Raheem Sterling scored twice (16', 38') as England knocked off Spain 3-2 on the road.

At Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina:

Eden Dzeko scored twice (27', 73') as Bosnia and Herzegovina all but locked up promotion to League A by blanking visiting Northern Ireland 2-0.

Siim Luts (20'), Artur Pikk (70'), and Henri Anier (79') each scored once for the hosts.

At Tampere, Finland:

Pyry Soiri (46') and Glen Kamara (89') each scored once as Finland blanked visiting Greece 2-0, all but assuring themselves promotion to League B.

David Turpel (4'), Danel Sinani (65'), and Vincent Thill (73') each scored once as Luxembourg dominated visiting San Marino 3-0.
