CAF Champions League: Good Day For Casablanca Clubs

The first round of the CAF Champions League reached its' midway point on Sunday with eight games.

At Cairo, Egypt (due to security concerns in Libya in association with that country's civil war):

Ayoub Nanah scored the game winner in the 72nd minute as Morocco's Raja Casablanca took the opening game of their series with Libya's Al-Nasr 3-1.

At Lome, Togo:

The opening game of the series between ASC Kara and visiting AS Vita Club ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

At Aba, Nigeria:

Enyimba and visiting Al-Hilal battled to a series-opening 0-0 deadlock.

At Blida, Algeria:

Mohamed Meftah (17', PK-45'+1) and Zakaria Benchaa (45'+2, 76') each scored twice as USM Alger dominated visiting Gor Mahia 4-1 in their series opener.

At Kumasi, Ghana:

Richard Arthur scored the winning goal in the 54th minute as Asante Kotoko took their series opener 2-1 over visiting Etoile du Sahel.

At Nouakchott, Mauritania:

Mohamed Nahiri (35') and Ismail El Haddad (78') each scored once as Wydad Casablanca blanked FC Nouadhibou 2-0 on the road in their series opener.

At N'Djamena, Chad

Bakhit Djibrine's equalizer in the 76th minute carried Elect-Sport to a series-opening 1-1 home draw with Esperance de Tunis.

Fedi Ben Chong scored for the Tunisian club in the 66th minute.

At Mahajanga, Madagascar:

The opening match between Fosa Juniors and visiting TP Mazembe ended in a 0-0 draw.
