At Kiev, Ukraine (due to warlike conditions in eastern Ukraine):
Alassane Plea produced a hat trick (8', 26', 78') as Borussia Monchengladbach made mince meat of Shakhtar Donetsk 6-0 on the road.
At Madrid:
Rodrygo Silva de Goes scored the winning goal in the 81st minute as Real Madrid blew a two-goal lead, then went on to upend visiting Inter Milan 3-2.
