Busy Saturday In Ligue 1

Nine games were played Saturday in France's Ligue 1:

At Lyon:

Resurgent Monaco surprised league-leading Lyon by holding the hosts to a 0-0 stalemate.

At Montbeliard:

Karim Ziani's second-half double (62', PK-65') enabled homstanding Sochaux to come from behind to defeat AS Nancy Lorraine 2-1.

At Lille:

Kanga Akale's 55th-minute equalizer enabled AJ Auxerre to gain a 1-1 road deadlock with Lille.

At Valenciennes:

First-half goals from Steve Savidan (PK-13') and Rudy Mater (19') guided Valenciennes to a 2-1 home win over struggling Sedan.

At Troyes:

Georges Ba and his 74th-minute equalizer enable Troyes to gain a 1-1 home draw with Paris Saint-Germain.

At Lorient:

Visiting Rennes and Lorient battled to a 0-0 deadlock.

At Nice:

A nice come-from-behind 2-1 road win for Lens over Nice as Jussie (PK-74') and Aruna Dindane (78') scored second-half goals for the guests.

At Bordeaux:

Gerald Cid scored the lone goal (61') of Bordeaux's 1-0 home victory over Le Mans.

At Toulouse:

Four second-half goals---one from each of four different players---powered Nantes to a 4-0 road fistbeating of Toulouse.
