Gunners Erase Two-Goal Deficit To Tie Pompey

Six games were played Saturday in the English Premier League:

At London:

Emmanuel Adebayor (58') and Gilberto Silva (60') provided the second-half goals that lifted Arsenal from a 2-0 deficit to gain a 2-2 home draw with Portsmouth.

At Birmingham:

Gary Speed's successful penalty kick (75') provided the lone goal in Bolton's 1-0 road win at Aston Villa's expense.

At London:

Liverpool continued Charlton Athletic's rough times, blanking the homestanding Addicks 3-0. Xabi Alonso (PK-3'), Craig Bellamy (82') , and Stephen Gerrard (88') provided the scoring for the Reds.

At Newcastle:

Obafemi Martins tallied twice (49', 85') to lead Newcastle United to a 2-1 home win over Watford.

At Reading:

Second-half goals from Benedict McCarthy (64') and David Bentley (84') propelled Blackburn to a 2-1 comeback victory over hosts Reading.

At Wigan:

Rob Hulse notched the lone goal (45') of Sheffield United's 1-0 road victory over Wigan Athletic.
