At Montreal:
Joey Gjertsen scored the only goal of the match (43') to lead the Montreal Impact to a 1-0 home win over Real Esteli (Nicaragua) in game one of their two-match set.
At Alajuela, Costa Rica:
The Puerto Rico Islanders came from behind to gain a 1-1 road draw in game one of their two-game set with LD Alajuelense. Argenis Fernandez opened the scoring for the hosts at 42 minutes, before the Islanders' Osei Telesford eqaualized at 64 minutes.
At Metapan, El Salvador:
Visiting Marathon (Honduras) gained a 2-2 road draw with Metapan in the opening match of their two-game set. William Reyes knocked in the equalizer at 61 minutes to salvage the home draw for Metapan.
