OFC Champions League: Champs Drop Opener At Home As Group Stage Play Starts

Three games were played on Saturday as the 2010-11 OFC Champions League started group stage play.

Group A:

At Honiara, Solomon Islands:

Matthew Mayora scored twice (16', 26') as  Lautoka FC defeated Koloale FC Honiara 2-1 on the road.

At Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea:

Fenedy Masauvakalo (23') and Jack Wetney (47') each delivered a goal as Amical FC stunned defending champions PRK Hekari United 2-1 on the road.

GROUP A STANDINGS:

1. Lautoka FC (Fiji) (GP: 1; GD: +1; PTS: 3)
    Amical FC (Vanuatu) (GP: 1; GD: +1; PTS: 3)
3. PRK Hekari United (PNG) (GP: 1; GD: -1; PTS: 0)
    Koloale FC Honiara (Solomon Islands) 
     (GP: 1; GD: -1; PTS: 0)

Group B:

At Auckland, New Zealand:

Adam McGeorge (18'), David Mulligan (29'), and Daniel Koprivcic (33') each scored a goal in the first half as Auckland City proved way too much for visiting AS Magenta 3-0.
