Group stage play in this season's UEFA Champions League reached the midway point with eight games on Wednesday, two of them in Group A.

At Milan, Italy:

Samuel Eto'o scored twice (PK-11', 35') as Inter Milan held off visiting Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 in spite of Gareth Bale's hat trick (52', 90', 90') for Spurs.  Pictured here, we see the Nerozzurri's Jonathan Biabiany being felled by Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

At Enschede, Netherlands:

FC Twente battled visiting Werder Bremen to a 1-1 draw as both remained winless in group stage action.  Theo Janssen put the hosts in front at 75 minutes (pictured here).  However, Marko Arnautovic equalized for the guests at 80 minutes.
