Europa League Qualifying

The opening round of Europa League continued on Thursday as 37 of the originally-scheduled 38 games were played.

At Karaganda, Kazakhstan:

Andrei Finonchenko scored twice (12', 49') as Shakhter Karagandy demolished visiting FC Shirak 4-0 in game two and finished off the Armenian club 6-1 on aggregate.

At Astana, Kazakhstan:

Bauyrzhan Dzholchiev (13') and Dmitri Shomko (79') delivered the scoring as FC Astana blanked visiting FC Pyunik 2-0 in game two and eliminated the Armenian club 6-1 on aggregate.

At Yerevan, Armenia:

Mate Bilic scored in the 87th minute to lift RNK Split to a game-two 1-1 draw on the road with FC Mika, good enough for the Croatian club to win their two-game series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Lac, Albania:

After a 1-1 draw following regulation of game two which saw the series level at 1-1 on aggregate, and following 30 scoreless overtime minutes, KF Laci, with Erjon Vucaj, Arjan Sheta, and Segun Adeniyi converting their spot kicks,  won the penalty-kick shootout 3-2 over Slovenia's Rudar Velenje to advance to the second qualifying round.

At Jurmala, Latvia:

Andreas Olsen scored series-winning goal in the 88th minute, lifting Vikingur to a 1-1 game-two road draw with FC Daugava Daugavpils (who ended the match with ten men), good enough for the Faorese club to win their two-match series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Niksic, Montenegro:

Mihailo Tomkovic (14'), Milivoje Raicevic (58'), and Aleksandar Vujacic (72') produced the goals as FK Buducnost Podgorica dominated visiting Folgore 3-0 in game two and ousted the club from San Marino 5-1 on aggregate.

At Petrovac, Montenegro:

Damir Sadikovic scored the only goal of both the match and the series in the 57th minute as FK Zeljeznicar Sarajevo won both game two of their series with Lovcen Cetinje (who finished the contests with ten men) on the road and the series itself on aggregate 1-0.

At Panevezys, Lithuania:

Paul Heatley scored twice in the second half (55', 71') as Crusaders defeated Ekranas 2-1 on the road in game two and won their two-match series 5-1 on aggregate.

At Vantaa, Finland:

After Honka led game two at 2-1 at the end of regulation, squaring the two-game series at 3-3 on aggregate,  Yevgeni Kubayev scored the series winner in the 120th minute as the second overtime period was coming to a close as Sillamae Kalev, despite dropping a 3-2 game-two overtime decision to the Finnish club, still won the series on away goals (4-4 on aggregate).

At Baku, Azerbaijan:

Arif Dashdemirov (79'), Bachana Tskhadadze (PK-83'), and Mirzaga Huseynpur (90') each scored a goal as Inter Baku defeated visiting FC Tiraspol 3-1 in game two and took their series with the Moldovan club 6-3 on aggregate.

At Andorra la Vella, Andorra:

A game-two 0-0 road stalemate with UE Sant Julia was good enough for FK Cukaricki as the Serbian club won their two-game series 4-0 on aggregate.

At Tbilisi, Georgia:

Giorgi Gabedava scored twice (7', 67') as FC Chikhura Sachkhere defeated visiting FK Turnovo 3-1 in game two and took out the Macedonian club 4-1 on aggregate.

At Klaipeda, Lithuania:

Maksim Maksimov scored the series-winning goal in the 88th minute as FK Atlantas overturned their series-opening 1-0 road defeat with a 3-1 game-two home win over FC Differdange 03 and won their series with the Luxembourgian club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Tallinn, Estonia:

Thanks to goals from Felipe Nunes (10') and Hidetoshi Wakui (53'), Nomme Kalju FC gained a 2-2 game-two home draw with Fram Reykjavik and won their series with the Icelandic club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Jelgava, Latvia:

Mike Jensen (29') and Mikkel Diskerud (73') provided the scoring as Rosenborg blanked FK Jelgava 2-0 on the road in game two and ousted the Latvian club 6-0 on aggregate.

At Haugesund, Norway:

Maic Sema scored the game and series-winning goal in the 56th minute as FK Haugesund defeated visiting Airbus UK Broughton 2-1 in game two and won their series with the Welsh club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Riga, Latvia:

Adam Rooney delivered a natural first-half hat trick (22', 40', 45') as Aberdeen dominated hosts FK Jelgava 3-0 in game two and completed an 8-0 aggregate series beatdown of the Latvian club.

At Vlore, Albania:

Ardit Shehaj scored the series-winning goal in the 85th minute as Flamurtari Vlore, despite dropping a 2-1 game-two home decision to Sioni Bolnisi, still advanced on away goals (the aggregate score was 4-4).

At Chisinau, Moldova:

Jean-Marie Amani (5') and Alexandru Pascenco (87') delivered the goals as FC Zimbru Chisinau overturned their series-opening defeat with a 2-0 home win over FK Shkendija in game two and eliminated the Macedonian club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Stockholm, Sweden:

IF Brommapojkarna, thanks to goals through the courtesy of Jacob Une Larsson (64') and Gabriel Petrovic (78') overturned their series-opening road setback with a 2-0 game-two home win over VPS and won their series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Tromso, Norway:

Magnus Andersen (28', 57') and Simen Wangberg (54', 79') each scored twice as Tromso IL spanked visiting Santos Tartu 6-1 in game two en route to a two-match 13-1 aggregate annihilation of the Estonian club.


At Luxembourg City:

Lasse Vibe (76') and May Mahlangu (81') each scored a second-half goal five minutes apart as IFK Gothenburg defeated hosts CS Fola Esch 2-0 in both game two and in the series on aggregate.

At Zlate Moravce, Slovakia:

Martin Mikovic (12', 85') and Erik Sabo (21', 90'+2) each scored twice as FC Spartak Trnava demolished visiting Hibernians 5-0 in game two and completed their two-match domination of the Maltese club 9-2 on aggregate.

At Ta' Qali, Malta:

Akos Elek opened the scoring in the 30th minute as he wound up as one of four goal scorers each tallying once as Diosgyor dominated Birkirkira 4-1 on the road in game two and finished off the Maltese club 6-2 on aggregate.

At Tirane, Albania:

FK Kukesi, despite being held to a 0-0 game-two home stalemate by Kazakhstan's FC Kairat, still won their series 1-0 on aggregate.

At Lovech, Bulgaria:

PFC Litex Lovech (Bulgaria) vs. FC Veris Chisinau (Moldova) was postponed until Friday due to heavy rain and moved to the Bulgarian capital city of Sofia.

At Aberystwyth, Wales:

Rory Patterson delivered a natural second-half hat trick (60', 85', PK-87') as Derry City demolished Aberystwyth Town 5-0 on the road in game two and completed their series fist-beating of the Welsh club 9-0 on aggregate.

At Bangor, Wales:

Arnar Mar Bjorgvinsson scored twice (68', 81') as Stjarnan dominated Bangor City 3-0 on the road in game two en route to completing an 8-0 aggregate series demolition of the Welsh club.

At Gibraltar:

Nicolas Hasler scored the only goal of the match in the 89th minute as FC Vadus defeated ten-man College Europa 1-0 on the road in game two and ended Gibraltar's involvement in European club tournament play for the season with their 4-0 aggregate triumph.

At Torshavn, Faroe Islands:

A 0-0 deadlock on the road in game two enabled Finland's MYPA to win their series with IF Fuglafjordur 1-0 on aggregate.

At Sligo, Ireland:

Alan Keane (45'+1), Aaron Greene (72'), Danny North (83'), and David Cawley (89') delivered the scoring as Sligo Rovers belted visiting Banga Gargzdai 4-0 in both game two and on aggregate in their two-game series with the Lithuanian club.

At Koper, Slovenia:

Goran Galesic delivered a double (PK-16', 90'+4) as FC Koper demolished visiting Celik Niksic 4-0 in game two and compeleted their two-contest annihilation of the Montenegrin club 9-0 on aggregate.

At Siroki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina:

Mirko Maric scored twice (29', 56') as NK Siroki Brijeg blanked visiting Gabala FK 2-0 in the second contest of the series in which the Bosnian club won 5-0 on aggregate.

At Serravalle, San Marino:

Alexandru Benga (64') and Filip Filipov (87') each scored a goal as Botev Plovdiv blanked AC Libertas 2-0 on the road in game two and won their two-match series 6-0 on aggregate.

At Budapest, Hungary:

Roland Ugrai (PK-14') and Attila Busai (56') each scored a goal as Ferencvaros defeated visiting ten-man Sliema Wanderers 2-1 in game two and won their series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Skopje, Macedonia:

Bojan Gjorgievski (19') and Marko Simonovski (34') each delivered a goal as FK Metalurg Skopje blanked visiting UE Santa Coloma 2-0 in game two and won their series with the Andorran club 5-0 on aggregate.

At Dundalk, Ireland:

Brian Garland (8'), Kurtis Byrne (37'), and John Mountney (45'+1) each scored once as Dundalk defeated visiting Jeunesse Esch 3-1 in game two and took out the Luxembourgian club 5-1.

At Lurgan, Northern Ireland:

Kristjan Oskarsson (3') and Kristjan Emilsson (37', PK-69') delivered the goals as FH Hafnarfjordur defeated Glenavon FC 3-2 on the road in game two and won their series 6-2 on aggregate.
