Europa League: The Road To Warsaw Begins

Three games were played on Tuesday as the opening round of qualifying for the 2014-15 Europa League commenced.

At Qali, Malta:

Michal Nalepa's equalizer in the 76th minute lifted Hungary's Ferencvaros to a 1-1 game-one road draw with Sliema Wanderers.  Stanley Ohawuchi scored for the hosts in the 39th minute.

At Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg:

Richie Towell scored twice (PK-59', 72') as Dundalk will head home to Ireland in control of their two-game series with Jeunesse Esch following their series-opening 2-0 road win.

At Skopje, Macedonia:

Bojan Vrucina (45'+5) and Ivan Mitrov (47') each scored a goal as Shkendija held off visiting FC Zimbru 2-1 in game one.  Alexandru Grossu's successful penalty kick in the 50th minute kept the Moldovan club alive in the series.
