Two games. both in Group B, were played on Friday as the final weekend of CAF Champions League group-stage play commenced.
At Omdurman, Sudan:
Didier Libere scored the game's lone goal in the 14th minute as Al-Merrikh defeated USM Alger 1-0 in a battle of the group's two quarterfinal-round-bound clubs.
At Setif, Algeria:
In the tournament swan song for both clubs, Nadir Korichi (11') and Abdelmalek Abbes (89') each scored once as MC El Eulma gained a 2-2 road draw with ES Setif as El
Hedi Belameiri (61') and Eudes Dagoulou (78') each delivered a goal for the outgoing champions.

1. USM Alger (GP: 6; GD: +6; PTS: 15)
2. Al-Merrikh (GP: 6; GD: +5; PTS: 13)
3. ES Setif (GP: 6; GD: -5; PTS: 4)
4. MC El Eulma (GP: 6; GD: -6; PTS: 0)
USM Alger and Al-Merrikh advanced to the semifinal round.
