MLS: Reds (Who Clinch Playoff Berth), Timbers, Lions, Revs, Rapids, Caps Rack Up Saturday Wins

Eight games are on the Major League Soccer Saturday schedule, with all kickoff times Pacific.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

Nemanja Nikolic's equalizer in the 66th minute lifted the Chicago Fire to a 1-1 home draw with the New York Red Bulls.  Bradley Wright-Phillips scored in the eighth minute for the guests.

At Toronto:

Jozy Altidore scored twice (48', 64') as Toronto FC tightened their hold on top spot in both the Eastern Conference standings and the Supporters' Shield race---and not to mention becoming the first club to lock up a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs---following their 4-0 home demolition of the ten-man San Jose Earthquakes.

At New York:

Diego Valeri's goal in the 44th minute provided all the scoring as the Portland Timbers knocked off New York City 1-0 on the road and took over, for the time being, top spot in the Western Conference standings.  Mr. Valeri became only the fourth player in MLS history to score at least once in seven straight games and he notched his club-record (MLS Era) 17th goal of the season.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

At Minnespolis:

Ethan Finlay's equalizer at 40 minutes lifted Minnesota United to a 1-1 home draw with Philadelphia.  C.J. Sapong scored for the Union in the fifth minute.

At Houston:

Dominique Badji's scored in the second minute of second-half stoppage enabled the Colorado Rapids to snap their nine-match in-league winless skid as they knocked off the Houston Dynamo 1-0 on the road.

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Cristian Techera (29'), Kendall Waston (52'), and Yordy Reyna (64') each scored once as the Vancouver Whitecaps held off visiting Real Salt Lake 3-2.
