At East Rutherford, New Jersey:
Andre Toussaint's late first-half brace (40', 45'+1) lifted W Connection to a 2-1, come-from-behind road win over the New York Red Bulls in game two of their two-match series and a 4-3 aggregate victory in the series to lock up a spot in the group stage.
At Mexico City:
Despite being held to a 0-0 home draw in game two by Club Sport Herediano, Cruz Azul still won their two-game set with the Costa Rican club on aggregate, 6-2.
