Gunners, Olympiacos, Stuttgart Gain 2-0 Road Wins; Fiorentina Gain 2-2 Draw On Road; FC Copenhagen Pick Up Lone Home Win

The playoff round for the right to advance to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League commenced on Tuesday.

Champions Path:

At Tiraspol, Moldova:

Second-half goals from Dudu (46') and Kostas Mitroglou (81') carried Olympiacos to a 2-0 road win in game one of their two-match series with FC Sheriff.

At Copenhagen, Denmark:

Zdenek Pospech scored the only goal of the match at 54 minutes as FC Copenhagen blanked visiting APOEL FC in match one of their two-game set.

Non-Champions Path:

At Glasgow, Scotland:

Helped by William Gallas goal at 43 minutes and Gary Caldwell's own goal at 71 minutes, Arsenal took game one with Celtic 2-0 on the road.

At Timisoara, Romania:

VfB Stuttgart, thanks to goals from Timo Gebhart (PK-28') and Aleksandr Hleb (30') downed FC Timisoara 2-0 on the road in the opening match of their two-game series.

At Lisbon, Portugal:

Goals from Juan Manuel Vargas (6') and Alberto Gilardino (79') enabled Fiorentina to gain a 2-2 road draw in game one with Sporting. The Lions got goals from Simon Vukcevic (58') and Miguel Veloso (66').
