At Montevideo, Uruguay:

Santiago Ostolaza's goal at 74 minutes turned out to be all the scoring as Racing Club de Montevideo defeated visiting Independiente Medellin 1-0.

Group Five:


At Quito, Ecuador:


Michael Arroyo scored the lone goal of the match at 64 minutes as Deportivo Quito defeated visiting Emelec 1-0 in a battle of Ecuadorian clubs.
